Ray Holman’s “In Touch” was officially launched in Seattle by Jack Straw Productions. The celebrated composer joined band members who were featured on the CD for a rousing performance before an audience made up of a lively group of well known musicians, university colleagues and others from the Seattle arts scene.
The launch was billed as “Meet the Composer” and featured the band playing several tunes from the CD, many of which are now being heard on concert stages in Seattle. Radio stations in that city are also playing several cuts from “In Touch.” Joining Holman on double seconds were Andy Glynn, saxophone, Michael Glynn, bass, Mike McGee, guitar and Bill Nordwall, organ.
Holman recorded the CD at Jack Straw Productions during his studio residency in Jack Straw’s Artist Support Program. At the time, Holman was a visiting artiste at the University of Washington.
Holman also performed at two concerts in Denver in August, and conducted a pan clinic at Colorado State University where he will return in the spring to do a concert.
